About me
I am Naomi Cardoso, and I am a senior at Forsyth Central High School. I have been on the Varsity Competition and Sideline Cheerleading teams for the past four years, and I also enjoy teaching Sunday School class at my church. I am an active member of FCA, Beta Club, and I am Vice President of the National Honor Society. This year I am doing my mentorship at Cumming Elementary School in Mrs. Moseley's Kindergarten class. Below is a little profile that will give a little more insight into who I am and what I plan on doing in the future:
My Profile: I am interested in the criminal justice field, particularly the FBI, so one might wonder why I chose a mentorship in a Kindergarten class. Well, I feel a very strong connection to children. I have always loved hanging out with the younger children at my church, and eventually I became a teacher in Sunday school. Ever since then I knew working with children was something I was passionate about, and something I would never turn down an opportunity to do. I love my mentorship because it allows me to work with the most amazing little kids, and it teaches valuable life skills because working with children is not always the easiest.
My Mentorship: My mentorship takes place in a Kindergarten class at Cumming Elementary. I help with classroom activities such as math and reading, and sometimes I even get to help teach. We do a lot of crafts and activities that help teach the kids to express themselves and develop their creativity. I also accompany the kids to various specials like PE and Art and make sure the kids behave. I have developed bonds with all the kids in my class, and when I see them out in the community it warms my heart to hear that they tell their parents about me as much as I tell my parents about them.
My future: I plan on attending college where I will pursue a degree in the field of criminal justice. My hopes are to one day join the FBI, and be able to protect kids like these.
